Site Surveys, Delivery, Installation and Maintenance

PKL provide a complete turnkey solution starting with a free, no obligation site survey to decide the best location for facilities on site and address any issues there may be.

 

Delivery

Once we have worked with you to produce a design which suits your requirements, we will deliver your kitchen or catering equipment using our in house transport fleet, which includes a number of hiab lorries which can be used to crane units into position. Delivery can be arranged for a time, which will cause minimum disruption to your school or college including evenings, weekends or during holiday periods.

Unit and Kit Preparation

PKL has a number of in house facilities to ensure that our equipment reaches you in the best possible condition. Kit Heaven is the largest test and inspection centre for catering equipment in Europe. Every item of catering equipment passes through a rigorous test and inspection programme in Kit Heaven before every hire, to ensure it arrives in the best possible condition. In addition our Portable Kitchen units undergo a deep clean process and a 26 stage pre-delivery inspection before leaving PKL.

Installation and Project Management

For temporary installations, PKL engineers can connect your facility to services if required, commission and test the kitchen. Our installation service can also include, linking units to existing buildings, connecting steps and ramps, installation and connection of fire and intruder alarms, provision building of skirting if required and building of construction piers to elevate units.

We have extensive experience of delivering kitchens as part of major new build or refurbishment projects. For major and permanent installations, PKL will provide a project manager to oversee the build process and coordinate any subcontractors that may be needed.


Equipment Maintenance

PKL have an in-house team of engineers, who are on hand to ensure that your facility is maintained for the duration of your hire. We operate a 24-hour technical support line to ensure that if there are any problems, they can be dealt with as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Our catering equipment contract hire offer (KitchenFM) includes a comprehensive service contract including an agreed level of preventative maintenance visits during the year. In addition, should an item of equipment break down, one of our engineers will be on hand to repair or replace the item if required.
